Known as the Garden City, Bengaluru is one of the most scenic cities in India. The Bangalore Palace:
Built in 1887 by King Chamaraja Wadiyar the Tudor style palace took about 4 years to complete. The land where the palace stands belonged to the principal of a cantonment school, Reverend J Garrett but was bought from him by the guardians of the King. Cubbon Park:
This beautiful 300 acre park is located at the heart of Bengaluru and is a favourite among dog walkers, joggers and couples too. The park was named for Lord Cubbon was built in 1864. Lal Bagh:
Originally commissioned by Haider Ali in 1760, but completed by his son Tipu Sultan, the Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens is another gorgeous park that is a great favourite for locals and tourists alike. With over 1800 varieties of plants, this is a wonderful place for a picnic.
Pubs and Breweries:
Home to some of the country’s first and finest micro-breweries, no trip to Bengaluru is complete without tasting some beer. The city is also known as the pub city and has many suited for every need, cuisine, music or even professional. One of the oldest, Pecos, is a great place to go, not just for the beer but also their delicious curries served with dosa and the music.
Food:
Whether you love the delicacies of the South or are more partial to other world cuisines, Bengaluru has the best food around. One of the oldest and possibly the best places to find a malasa dosa is CTR. Once you’re done with the dosa walk across the road, drink some strong filter coffee.
